The AirPods Pro 2, launched in 2023, are some of the renowned TWS earbuds that you can buy, and Apple has finally unveiled its successor, the AirPods Pro 3. They bring a few improvements over the AirPods Pro 2, so if you're thinking of upgrading, here's everything new in AirPods Pro 3 over the AirPods Pro 2.
AirPods Pro 3 are more compact
Starting with the most prominent change, the design. Following in the footsteps of the AirPods 4 from last year, the AirPods Pro 3 are more compact compared to the Pro 2s. The case is smaller, increasing its pocketability, while the earbuds themselves are largely identical to last year's model. The earbuds do lose their MagSafe capabilities due to this, though.

The AirPods 3 Pro case also includes a lanyard loop to attach a lanyard, so you can add it to your keys or hang it elsewhere. Speaking of design, the AirPods 3 Pro case now has a more subtle capacitive button like the AirPods 4, and the LED indicator has been moved below the plastic case, so the light is more subtle. You also get better water resistance on the Pro 3's with IP57 than the Pro 2s' IP54 rating.
AirPods Pro 3 bring Heart Rate and Temperature monitoring
Heart rate and Temperature monitoring are major health features that are being added to AirPods Pro 3. Heart rate monitoring will allow users to track their heart rate without an Apple Watch, while Temperature monitoring could help show more accurate temperature data because it's in your ear.

Apple is also improving the Hearing Assistance feature that it introduced in the AirPods Pro 2. For those unaware, it's meant for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. Apple didn't delve into how the feature has improved, and it's something we'd need to find out in real-life usage.
AirPods Pro 3 offer better Noise Cancellation

Noise Cancellation has been one of the defining features of the AirPods Pro lineup, and it's getting an upgrade with the AirPods Pro 3. Apple claims the earbuds feature upgraded ANC, which can cancel noise twice as well.
AirPods Pro 3 feature better Battery life

Apple claims that the AirPods Pro 3 can now last for up to 8 hours of playback with ANC and up to 10 hours in transparency mode. These are solid 33% and 67% improvements from the AirPods Pro 2. The firm did not elaborate on the total battery capacity you could get combined with the case.

So, are the AirPods Pro 3's worth buying if you already have the AirPods Pro 2's? The answer is no. Sure, the compact design combined with much better noise cancellation should improve the experience. The battery has improved as well, but it's still not worth it.
The Heart rate and Temperature sensors are great additions, but if you already own an Apple Watch, spending Rs 24,999 all over again doesn't make sense. That is, unless you're switching from the AirPods Pro or AirPods 2 or AirPods 3.
