A few weeks back, Google rolled out the second Android 17 beta update. Now, it is back with Android 17 Beta 3, with the new release focusing primarily on bug fixes and refining the overall Pixel UI for a seamless experience.

All New Android 17 Beta 3 Features

One of the biggest changes in Android 17 Beta 3 is the system-wide addition of app Bubbles. They now work with every app, both first-party and third-party, and are focused on better multitasking, opening in a floating UI of their own.

The next change has arrived in the form of a redesigned screen-recording toolbar. The new layout shows three options - record device audio, record microphone and show touches. Once the recording starts, there are now bottom quick access options in the form of New, Edit and Delete.

Also, with Android 17 Beta 3, Pixel phones can finally hide App Labels from their homescreen. There is now a new toggle inside the homescreen settings page with a Show app names option. It can be enabled or disabled to either show labels or opt for a cleaner look.

Aside from the above-mentioned changes, Android 17 Beta 3 has largely focused on resolving several existing bugs and shipping underlying improvements. It has shipped several fixes for media and camera enhancements like updated photo picker customisation, RAW14 image format support, vendor-defined camera extensions, camera device type APIs and more.

The update also improves performance and battery on Pixels, enhances the Pixel UI experience and has introduced privacy and security features like system-provided location button, Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Signing and more.
