A flurry of recent leaks grabbed the attention of Apple fans that the Cupertino giant's most anticipated foldable has been delayed to next year. However, looking back at what some of the most prominent tipsters in the industry with a decent track record had to say, the iPhone Fold may still potentially launch by the end of 2026.
iPhone Fold Could Be Delayed but Not By Months
The initial reports that arrived where the CEO of Lagan Precision, one of Apple's iPhone lens suppliers, claimed that the iPhone Fold is being postponed to early 2027. However, tipster Fixed Focus Digital said the reports about the phone being delayed are all fake, and that the iPhone Fold is on track for launch in 2026.

When users in the comments presented reports about the delay, the tipster doubled down and said there would be no delay, and asked users to take their word for it. And for the most part, it lines up with what industry insiders have been telling us this whole time.
For starters, a Barclays investor note from March 2026 suggested that the smartphone could be pushed to the very end of the year. And this seemed like a close possibility considering Apple has a history of staggered releases to first produce its most premium models.

Combined with previous reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who stated that the launch could only be delayed slightly, suggesting the iPhone Ultra Fold could arrive in October or December 2026, rather than later or with the iPhone 18 Pro launch scheduled for September 2026.
These reports are further strengthened by another tipster, Fixed Focus Digital, who originally also denied that the iPhone Fold is facing any kind of scheduling setbacks and would launch on time. However, a report from Nikkei Asia suggests there are a few ongoing engineering issues Apple needs to fix before launch, which could push the launch to 2027.
However, considering the original report comes from a firm that manufactures for Apple, it's hard to completely discern the same. With less than three months left for the unveiling of iPhone 18 Pro, we should hear more about the iPhone Fold. Until then, stay tuned.
