When it comes to smartphone and peripherals charging solutions, especially wireless chargers and powerbanks, Belkin is a familiar name, both in India and globally. It is one of the few brand's that offer Qi 2 certified wireless charging solutions. Now, it seems like the brand is gearing to launch its first ever Qi 2.2 wireless charging solution soon.
The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has officially certified Belkin to launch Qi 2.2 wireless charging solutions globally and in India. Qi 2.2 is an improvement over the Qi2 standard, in terms of wireless charging speed and backward compatibility. Qi 2.2 certified wireless chargers can charge devices with up to 25W max output, compared to the 15W cap of Qi 2 chargers. The best part is that Qi 2.2 certified devices can also work with Qi 1 and Qi 2 chargers.
As of now, Belkin has not officially listed any Qi 2.2 certified charger on their website. However, a deeper dive into the WPC certification database has revealed Belkin's upcoming Qi 2.2 product.

From the looks of it, the Belkin Armstrong 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock will be the debut Qi 2.2 product from the brand. It has been listed on the WPC website with the MPP25 + BPP power profile, indicating the 25W wireless charging capability. It also has the version 2.2.1 mentioned further indicating the Qi 2.2 protocol.
The Armstrong 3-in-1 appears to be a direct successor of the BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock that had the Qi 2 certification with max 15W wireless charging output. This means that the Belkin Armstrong can also charge your phone, smartwatch and earbuds all at once.
Apart from Belkin, the Qi 2.2 charging certification is also live for brands like Ugreen, Energizer, Aukey, Anker, Besus and more prominent charging product manufacturers. Amongst the lot, only Ugreen has officially announced that its Qi 2.2-certified MagFlow Magnetic Powerbank will launch soon. Anker even has a full-fledged Qi 2.2 blog that outlines the key benefits and features of Qi 2.2 chargers.
With that said, we are looking forward to seeing what else Belkin has in the pipeline in terms of Qi 2.2 wireless charging solutions. It is a very popular brand in India and has a proven track record in the subcontinent.
