Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has now launched a Rs 1 prepaid plan dubbed 'Freedom Plan' in India. The plan includes 2 GB of daily 4G data, unlimited voice calling and more, valid for 30 days. Here are all the details.
The telecom operator took to its official X handle to announce the new plan. This new BSNL Freedom Plan is part of the telecom operator's celebration of Indian Independence Month and aims to promote its newly deployed indigenous 4G network.

- 2GB 4G data per day (reduced speeds of 40kbps after the limit)
- Unlimited voice calls (Local and STD)
- 100 SMS per day
- A free BSNL 4G SIM card
However, the catch is that, to avail the offer, interested users will need to visit a BSNL customer service centre or an authorised retailer to complete activation. For any assistance, users can reach out to the toll-free number – 1800-180-1503.

Do note that the BSNL Freedom Plan is not for existing users, nor can it be recharged online in any way, for now. Nor is there any way to upgrade to the new scheme.
Whether the plan translates into lasting user adoption will depend on how well BSNL executes its 4G rollout and handles customer onboarding during the offer period.
For now, though, a full month of unlimited calls and 2GB data per day is a deal few will want to ignore, especially for basically free at one rupee.
