Creating custom AI stickers for WhatsApp could soon become much easier. OpenAI appears to be working on a new "ChatGPT Stickers" feature that would let users generate AI stickers directly inside the ChatGPT app and export them to WhatsApp with a single tap.

The folks over at Android Authority managed to spot the new feature inside the latest 1.2026.216 version of the ChatGPT app. The codebase reveals a dedicated sticker creation and export feature that could soon come to ChatGPT.

The feature will reportedly allow users to create custom AI-generated stickers directly inside the ChatGPT app with the tap of a single button. Users will then be able to click on a dedicated "Add to WhatsApp" button to directly export the generated stickers as a custom sticker pack.

This will eliminate the entire manual process of generating the sticker image first, then downloading it, cropping it and finally importing it to WhatsApp. The code also hints at a WhatsApp-specific Android integration hook, which could mean that OpenAI is building a direct pipeline to WhatsApp's sticker system.

Moreover, the "Add to WhatsApp" button is said to comply with WhatsApp's sticker pack guidelines. Currently, the messaging app mandates that a sticker pack must contain a minimum of three stickers and a maximum of 30 stickers.

Also, the publication managed to spot an "Add to chat apps" string alongside the WhatsApp-specific code. This could mean that OpenAI is planning to give a one-click option to add stickers on multiple platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and more.

That said, the new "ChatGPT Stickers" feature is not live yet and is obtained via an APK teardown. So, it is important to note that this doesn't reflect a feature coming in the future or currently rolling out. As is with most APK teardowns, the new feature might not make it to reality. So, stay tuned for further updates.
