Talks of a more affordable ChatGPT Go plan have been going around in the internet lately. Well, new information has emerged that further solidifies the potential existence of such a plan.
The latest clue comes from the ChatGPT Android app's Google Play Store listing, which hints at the imminent arrival of OpenAI's more affordable ChatGPT Go plan. Tipster Tibor Blaho took to X to reveal that the Play Store listing for the ChatGPT app now shows in-app purchases starting at Rs 399 and going all the way to Rs 19,900.

Now, the Rs 399 pricing matches the price previously uncovered in the ChatGPT web app configuration, further strengthening speculations of the Go plan being India-centric. While OpenAI hasn't officially announced the tier, several ChatGPT app users (including us) came across a ChatGPT Go plan pop-up after ChatGPT 5 went official recently.

Now, this pop-up also gave away what would make the Go plan different from the free tier. While both plans will stick to using the basic ChatGPT model, the Go plan will offer more messages, more file uploads, more image generation and advanced data analysis as well.
The ChatGPT Go plan would provide a lower-cost alternative to ChatGPT Plus, which is currently priced at Rs 1,950 per month in India. The Rs 399 price tag would undoubtedly give more Indian users access to the premium side of ChatGPT.
India is a competitive market and we already have Airtel offering Perplexity Pro for free. Additionally, not too long ago, Google started offering its Gemini 2.5 Pro to students in India for free.
So, it will be interesting to see how ChatGPT positions its Go plan in the country, especially since the latest ChatGPT 5 is already available in the free tier.
