Back in July 2025, Perplexity launched its Comet AI browser for macOS and Windows users. It instantly gained a lot of traction online, with mobile users waiting in anticipation to try it. Now, after almost four months, it has finally happened and Android users are first in line to try it.
Comet AI browser is now live for Android users
In an official blog post on November 20, 2025, Perplexity, the parent company behind Comet, announced its launch on Android. The Comet AI browser went up for pre-registration a few weeks back in the Play Store and is now available for Android phones.

This makes this the first major AI-centric browser to ship to mobile devices. The main USP of the Comet AI browser is that it comes with Perplexity AI as the default search engine. This means that users will be able to get AI-generated summaries and answers to their search results online. It can even directly complete actions on behalf of the users.
Moreover, just like the browser version, the Comet AI browser Android app also comes with the Comet Assistant AI agent. Users can use the browser's built-in assistant to view the contents of tabs, browse the web for them, summarise web pages, find emails and more. It even supports voice commands for a truly hands-free automated browsing experience. In the mobile variant, the Comet Assistant lives in the middle of the address bar.

Also, just like on the browser version, Comet AI can search and shop on the user's behalf. It even comes with a built-in ad blocker to protect users from spam messages and pop-up adverts.
The mobile version also supports the ability to whitelist pages and websites for a smoother, faster and safer browsing experience. Interested users can download Perplexity's Comet AI browser from the Google Play Store.
