Flipkart is now sweetening the deal for its VIP Black members with a major streaming perk by offering a free one-year subscription to YouTube Premium. Valued at Rs 1,490, the free YouTube Premium offer can be activated via the Flipkart Black membership page, but there's a catch.
The membership can be activated only through mobile. Once Flipkart Black users open the Flipkart app, they can head into the Black membership page and tap on "Activate Now". Then, users will be redirected to YouTube to confirm their account details and hit "Activate Plan" to enjoy the benefits.
However, there are a couple of things to note. For starters, if users already have YouTube Premium on the same account, they'll need to cancel it first or use a different Google account. The offer is also non-transferable and can only be used on a single account at one time.
In addition, Flipkart also clarifies that the YouTube Premium benefit will also expire if the Black membership ends before the 12-month period is up. In that case, users can continue the service at standard YouTube Premium rates.
Another thing to note is that Flipkart VIP is now Black and these two are not to be treated as different memberships. Existing Flipkart VIP members will automatically be moved to Black. However, if users don't have Flipkart VIP, they'll need to purchase it separately for Rs 799 a year.
At the time of writing, we couldn't find a way to purchase the plan. Hopefully, Flipkart will bring the functionality back for potential Black users to snag the free YouTube Premium offer.
