Google rolled out the Wardrobe feature in Photos earlier this year, but a major flaw in it allowed users to add clothes only once. This meant users could not click a photo of their new jacket for it to appear in their Wardrobe without resetting it entirely. Well, a fix for the same is on the way.
First spotted by Android Authority, Google is working on eliminating this frustrating limitation. The APK teardown indicates that the Wardrobe feature will soon get a "+" button, allowing users to manually add their clothes, sneakers and accessories.
It's worth noting that the feature is under development. Once it rolls out, users can ensure everything in their wardrobe stays intact while adding new clothes, allowing them to incrementally build a permanent digital backup of their real-world closet.
This minor addition should make Wardrobe a more practical feature for everyday users. Right now, users can only tap the Create button to mix and match their outfits and try them on virtually on an AI-generated avatar that closely resembles them.

While it's not without its issues, including the lack of manual addition, it's easily one of the most functional modern AI use cases. For those unaware, Google co-developed the feature with Motorola, and it's now rolling out to all Android smartphones.
While we don't know exactly when the new feature will roll out, the fact that it is hidden behind a feature flag suggests Google could push it to the masses soon. Until then, stay tuned.
