HMD started teasing India's first-ever hybrid phone a few days back. Now, the brand has officially confirmed that the device will launch on October 7, 2025, at 12 PM IST in the country.
The official HMD India X account has set the launch date along with a short teaser revealing the new smartphone partially. It is clear that HMD is aiming to create a new smartphone category altogether with the release of the HMD Touch 4G.

The HMD Touch 4G is sort of a mix between a traditional keypad phone and a full-fledged smartphone. At first glance, it looks very similar to that of an iPod Shuffle or even close to the nostalgic Nokia Asha smartphone.
HMD has not lifted the curtain off the device completely. However, the HMD Touch 4G live images, which surfaced a few hours earlier, has given us a good look at the phone. It appears to feature a metal unibody design with a tiny 3.2-inch touchscreen at the front and a Nokia Lumia-like circular camera module at the back.

The bezels around the display are quite big, with a home button at the chin. There is also a power button and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top with a USB-C port at the bottom.
Apart from this, the OS on the device looks far off from Android. It could very well run on a custom OS like the Symbian OS. On the specs front, nothing has been leaked and teased so far.
That said, it will be interesting to see how HMD positions the Touch 4G in India. We believe price will be a huge factor here. Nonetheless, since the launch is just a few hours away, expect all questions to be answered soon.
