Huawei has expanded its tablet lineup in China by launching the MatePad Pro 12-inch alongside the Nova 16 SE smartphone. The Huawei MatePad Pro 12-inch is a flagship tablet that focuses on multimedia and productivity features, while also boasting a premium and sleek design language.
Huawei MatePad Pro 12-inch Specifications and Features
The Huawei MatePad Pro 12-inch retains most of its design cues from its siblings. The back of the tablet is relatively clean, but the circular camera module is reminiscent of Huawei's flagship phones in the Mate series. One of the selling points of the device is its 439-gram weight and its 4.7 mm thickness, which is wildly thin.
Coming to the Display, the tablet boasts a 12-inch 3K OLED panel with an undisclosed refresh rate. The display has a 93% screen-to-body ratio with minimal bezels and features Huawei's PaperMatte Display for a smoother stylus-gliding experience. The display's maximum brightness is capped at 1,600 nits.
Performance-wise, the tablet is powered by the Kirin T93 chipset. It's a nona-core processor, with a core setup similar to the Kirin 9030 Pro processor. The T93 promises a 45% boost in efficiency with HarmonyOS, but we're unaware of how Huawei has crunched these numbers.
That said, performance is complemented by up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. When it comes to optics, the tablet features a 50 MP f/1.8 rear camera with an LED flash and 4K recording support. The front camera is a 12 MP f/2.4 unit for video calls and selfies. For audio, there's a quad-speaker setup.
Fueling the internals is a 10,400mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. Software-wise, the MatePad Pro 12 runs HarmonyOS 6.1. In terms of connectivity, the MatePad Pro comes with Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 6.0 and a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port for display output. Security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Huawei MatePad Pro is available in two storage variants: 12 GB + 256 GB and 16 GB + 512 GB. The base storage variant is priced at 5,999 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 83,000), whereas the higher storage variant goes for 7,699 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 1,09,000).
Available colourways include Cherry Powder Gold, Blue, White, Silver and Deep Space Grey. Huawei is also bundling a keyboard with the tablet upon purchasing the higher storage variant, while all buyers will get a free Huawei FreeBuds SE 3 with their purchase on the official Huawei China storefront.
