Back in March 2026, the Huawei MatePad SE 11 and MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition India launch was teased. Well, the two tablets are now finally available to purchase in the country. While the SE tries to offer users the best bang for their buck, the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition is geared toward productivity, artsy work and entertainment.

Starting with the design, both the MatePad SE 11 and MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte feature a similar metal chassis with a fairly clean back and a pill-shaped vertical camera unit. The MatePad 11.5 is easy to tell apart thanks to the presence of POGO pins at its back. It's also slimmer at 6.1 mm (vs 6.9 mm on the SE).
The screen sizes are different, and so are the resolution and smoothness, with the more expensive MatePad 11.5 featuring a 600-nit 2.5K 120 Hz LCD panel. The affordable MatePad SE 11 sticks to a 400-nit 11-inch 1080p LCD panel.
Although both boast almost identical bezels, the more premium MatePad gets Huawei's PaperMatte display tech for smoother pen gliding and a paper-like feel.
Performance on the MatePad 11.5 is handled by a Kirin T82B. It's a mid-range octa-core processor with a peak core clock speed of 2.28 GHz. Whereas the MatePad SE 11 features a Kirin 710A octa-core processor featuring Cortex-A73 cores.
The performance is complemented by 8 GB of RAM on both tablets. The premium tablet gets 256 GB of base storage, whereas the SE packs 128 GB. Powering the tablets are 10,100mAh and 7,700mAh batteries, with 40W and 25W fast charging.
Optics-wise, the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition features a 13 MP rear camera with an 8 MP front camera. The MatePad SE 11, on the other hand, gets an 8 MP main camera with a 5 MP front camera.
The core software duties on the MatePad 11.5 are handled by a more recent HarmonyOS 4.3 release, whereas the MatePad SE 11 runs on the older HarmonyOS 2.0 release.
Connectivity-wise, both tablets feature Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, alongside USB 2.0 Type-C. The more expensive MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition also gets an extra mic (2), while both tablets are equipped with four speakers each.

The Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition is priced at Rs 45,999 for its single 8 GB + 256 GB storage. The more affordable MatePad SE 11 will set buyers back Rs 25,999 for the base 8 GB + 128 GB storage variant. The MatePad 11.5 also comes bundled with a keyboard folio case.
While the MatePad SE 11 comes in just one Nebula Grey colourway, the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition is available in Space Grey and Violet colourways. Both models are exclusively available via Flipkart.
