Huawei has now expanded its wearable portfolio in Europe with the launch of the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2. It is a premium, health-focused smartwatch that is designed for runners and athletes to get comprehensive data and health metrics. It has been developed in collaboration with Olympic gold medalist Eliud Kipchoge and the DSM-Firmenich Running team.
Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Specifications and Features
Right off the bat, the standout feature of the Watch GT Runner 2 is its ability to help and guide athletes, especially marathon runners. It comes with a dedicated Marathon Mode, which uses AI to intelligently track performance parameters.
The latest watch from Huawei can measure several running metrics like running power, pace per minute, stride count, route mapping and smart refuel reminders. It can also set health goals like heart rate per minute, breathing frequency, lung capacity and more.
Moreover, the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 supports advanced positioning. It comes with dual-band satellite positioning and a 3D floating antenna to track with pinpoint accuracy. The watch can precisely track movements using real-time GPS tracking to provide directions even in challenging terrain.
In terms of specifications, the Watch GT Runner 2 comes with a 1.32-inch circular AMOLED display encased within a 43.5mm titanium casing and a rotating metal top bezel. The display is protected by Huawei Kunlun glass and can reach up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.

In terms of battery life, the smartwatch is rated to last for up to 14 days with light usage. However, it can fluctuate between 32 hours to 7 days, depending on usage and precision positioning enabled. It also features more than 100 sport modes, including Trail Run, Golf, Freediving and Wheelchair Mode.
As for health and wellness measurement, the smartwatch can perform ECG analysis, Pulse Wave Arrhythmia analysis, Sleep Breathing measurement, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), SpO2 monitoring and more.
For connectivity, the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 syncs to the Huawei Health+ app and features NFC payments. It also comes with Bluetooth 6.0, GNSS and GLONASS. The watch is protected by an IP69 rating.
Pricing-wise, the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 costs 399 Euros (approximately Rs 43,000). It comes in Dusk Blue, Dawn Orange and Midnight Black colourways and colour-matched woven strap support.
