As power bank-like battery capacities are gradually becoming the new normal, it looks like the iQOO 16 will take things further with over an 8,000mAh cell.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming iQOO 16 will pack a massive 8,400mAh battery. This is 100mAh less than the leaker's previous claim of an 8,500mAh capacity. Nevertheless, it's still a big upgrade as compared to the 7,000mAh battery powering the current iQOO 15.
Although the tipster hasn't directly namedropped the phone, the "👖" emoji is a big hint that he uses to refer to upcoming iQOO phones.

However, that's not the only area where the flagship phone will see an upgrade. As per the tipster, it will also feature Samsung's M16 LEAD AMOLED display, which is expected to be used by Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra.

Before that, the tipster had also revealed that this will be a 6.85-inch 2K 165 Hz flat screen. If true, the iQOO 16 will have a smoother panel than its predecessor's 144 Hz limit.

Moreover, a previous iQOO 16 camera leak from the same tipster hinted at a main 50 MP camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor size and an f/1.68 aperture. This primary rear lens could be accompanied by a 50 MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.0 aperture and a 50 MP periscope telephoto shooter with a 1/1.95-inch sensor size and an f/2.65 aperture.
Apart from this, the iQOO 16 is expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, previously known as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. An iQOO 16 Geekbench listing backs the presence of the chipset.
For those unaware, the Snapdragon Summit 2026 event is scheduled for September 22, 2026, so we will see the chipset launch at the event (most likely). On the iQOO 16, the flagship Snapdragon chipset is said to be accompanied by the brand's self-developed Q4 gaming co-processor as well.
This is all that we know about the upcoming iQOO flagship. However, expect more details to surface in the coming days leading up to the launch.
