iQOO 16R is expected to arrive soon, and its traces are already being found on regulatory websites. The phone has been spotted on Indonesia's TKDN database, revealing its model number alongside its connectivity capabilities.
Spotted first by Android Treasure, a new device carrying the model number I2606, rumoured to be the iQOO 16R, has appeared on the TKDN database. The listing confirms the phone's 5G capabilities and official iQOO branding.

For those unaware, this exact model number was discovered in the GSM Association's IMEI database, which tied the hardware to the iQOO 16R. The smartphone is expected to be a rebranded version of the iQOO Z12 Turbo, which is bound to release in China soon.
As per the brand's previous release timelines, the Z11 Turbo arrived in January 2026, followed by the iQOO 15R in February 2026. If iQOO follows the same cadence, the iQOO 16R could launch in early 2027.

As for the phone's specifications, rumours suggest it is expected to feature a 6.59-inch high refresh rate display. Under the hood, the phone could feature a newer Snapdragon SKU: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.
To keep the temperatures in check, iQOO could also integrate a built-in cooling fan to quickly disperse heat. Additionally, industry rumours point to a massive 10,000mAh battery, which could be paired with 100W charging, making the iQOO 16R an endurance-focused machine.
With the iQOO 16 India launch set for sometime in late 2026, we should hear more about the iQOO 16R's potential India availability, specifications and pricing soon, so stay tuned.
