Jio Enables Free Incoming SMS Service over Wi-Fi for International Travellers

Reliance Jio today has unveiled a new feature which can prove extremely useful and helpful for Indian travellers abroad. Jio network users can now enjoy international roaming SMS services free of cost and at no additional burden.

Jio Introduces Free SMS Service for International Travellers

This new update works over the VoWiFi network and doesn't require an additional international roaming plan to work. All existing users with an active Jio plan, be it domestic or international, can enjoy seamless delivery of SMS while staying connected to Wi-Fi abroad.

Users will be able to enjoy the following benefits:

• Zero-Cost Incoming SMS while travelling abroad and having a valid and active Jio plan.
• Essential updates like Bank OTPs, Transaction alerts, service and verification messages and more are always enabled.
• Daily notifications while away from home network

That said, to ensure incoming SMS is active during international travel, users will need to enable Wi-Fi Calling if not already enabled.
