Homegrown smartphone maker Lava appears to be shifting its online sales strategy in India, as a new teaser confirms its partnership with Flipkart.
A banner spotted on Flipkart's dedicated Lava store page prominently reads "Coming Soon" and "India's own smartphone brand. Now on Flipkart." Now, this clearly hints at a potential shift in online sales strategy via the Walmart-backed e-commerce platform.
Lava x Flipkart: Why is it important?
This is noteworthy because Lava phones were previously more commonly associated with Amazon India for online sales, alongside offline retail channels. The new teaser suggests the brand will not prioritise Flipkart as its primary e-commerce partner, potentially improving visibility and sales.

Lava, founded back in 2009 and headquartered in Noida, has been steadily rebuilding its smartphone portfolio with a focus on the #ProudlyIndian motto. Over the past few years, the brand has attempted to re-establish itself in the competitive budget and mid-range segments with the Lava Agni and Blaze lineup.
However, with newer brands like Ai+ now in the picture and seeing success on Flipkart, it makes sense for Lava to take the fight straight to its competitors on the platform.
Not to mention that due to the ongoing smartphone market crisis, reliable budget 4G and 5G smartphones are now more important than ever. As a result, it seems like Lava will try to further dominate these entry-level and budget segments with its offerings.
While the teaser does not reveal specific upcoming Lava phones, the "Coming Soon" messaging does indicate that new launches or exclusive online availability via Flipkart could be on the horizon.
More details about the Lava and Flipkart partnership are expected to surface soon, so stay tuned!
