Lava is now gearing up to launch its Play Ultra 5G smartphone in India. Marketed as a gaming smartphone, the Play Ultra could potentially flaunt some impressive specs on paper.
The brand took to its official X handle to tease the India launch of the device with the tagline, "Strike Fast. Flex Hard. The game changes soon." In addition, the Lava Play Ultra is said to be an "OP move in gaming smartphones."

A teaser for the phone is also attached to the X post, giving us quite a good look at the design of the smartphone. At first glance, the phone looks like an iQOO flagship with that squircle camera module at the back. A close-up of the camera module reveals that the Lava Play Ultra will feature a 64 MP "AI Matrix Camera".

The Lava Play Ultra is teased in what seems like two different colour options – black and dark blue. Meanwhile, at the front, the device can be seen flaunting a punch-hole display.
A dedicated Amazon microsite has also gone live for the device, confirming its availability on the e-commerce platform. The microsite, in itself, doesn't reveal any vital details whatsoever and simply showcases a banner at the time of writing.
The brand hasn't revealed anything else at the time of writing, but leaks suggest that the Lava Play Ultra could pack the following key specifications:
- 6.67-inch Full HD+ 120 Hz flat AMOLED display
- MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor
- 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging
- Stereo speakers
- 3.5 mm headphone jack
Besides, given how Lava prices their devices, the Play Ultra could be one of the best gaming phones under Rs 20,000 in the country.
With that said, we do expect to hear a concrete launch date from the brand as well as more specifications of the device in the coming days. So, stay tuned.
