The Lava Play Ultra has gone official in India as a budget gaming phone priced under Rs 15,000. Featuring a minimalistic design, the Dimensity 7300 chipset and more, here's all you need to know about Lava's latest offering.

Lava Play Ultra 5G Specifications and Features

Starting with the display of the latest Lava device, the phone comes with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There are also dual stereo speakers to take advantage of when gaming or binge-watching content.

Under the hood, the Lava Play Ultra 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. The processor pairs up with MediaTek's HyperEngine, which is said to optimise games and offer 20% more frames. The device also offers up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In terms of optics, the device features a 64 MP Sony IMX682 primary rear camera sensor with EIS. Additionally, there is a secondary 5MP macro lens. The camera setup is backed by a bunch of features like Night Mode, Pro Mode, Document Scanning and more. At the front, there's also a 13 MP selfie shooter to make use of.

On the software front, the Lava Play Ultra 5G runs on Android 15 right out of the box, with the brand promising a clean experience. The brand has also promised 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security patches. 

Fueling it all is a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The device is also IP64 rated. Connectivity options are adequate, including Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and GLONASS. Meanwhile, for security, the Lava Play Ultra utilises an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Lava Play Ultra starts at Rs 14,999 for the base 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the 8 GB + 128 GB variant is priced at Rs 16,499. 

However, interested buyers can get an instant bank discount of Rs 1,000 on the device. The sale starts on August 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM IST, via Amazon. The phone will be available to purchase in the Arctic Slate and Arctic White colourways. 

From the looks of it, the Lava Play Ultra is certainly one of the best phones under Rs 15,000 that folks can buy in India.
