Earlier this month, the India launch of a Lava Virat smartphone was teased. Now, the brand has confirmed the exact launch date and also made it clear that there will be two phones: Lava Virat V1 5G and Lava Virat V1 4G.
The official Lava X account has confirmed that the Lava Virat V1 5G and the Lava Virat V1 4G will be launching on July 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST. Each of the teaser posts carries the "Only on Flipkart" tag, confirming that the phones will be exclusively sold on the e-commerce platform.
Additionally, Lava has also posted teaser videos for the phones, teasing their design. From the looks of it, the power button and volume rocker sit on the right side of the frame of both the 4G and 5G models. We also see a USB-C port, a speaker grille and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
The most noticeable difference between the two Lava phones lies in the rear camera module. From the looks of it, the Lava Virat V1 4G looks similar to the Lava Smart 4 Plus, which launched in India back in June 2026 as an offline-only offering. So, the Virat V1 may simply be a rebranded Smart 4 Plus, but for online buyers.
On the other hand, the Lava Virat V1 5G features a more stand-out camera module. Additionally, the back panel of the phone also sports geometric patterns. While the 4G variant is showcased in a blue and silver colourway, the 5G model is seen in a blue and green shade.
From the looks of it, both the Lava Virat V1 phones will feature dual rear cameras with an LED flash. Thanks to the branding on the 4G variant's camera module, we also get to know that it will feature a "13 MP AI camera".
For now, this is all that is known about the upcoming phones. However, with the launch date being a little over a week away, expect the rumour mill to churn out some more details ahead of it. So, stay tuned.
