In 2026, it is fair to say we have reached a point where smartphones have started to feel more like tall tablets than phones. With screen sizes close to 7 inches, we are comfortably hanging in the compact tablet territory. Beyond that, the line blurs further, and it is exactly what Lenovo is trying to do with its upcoming smartphone.
Lenovo Could Soon Launch a 7.5-inch Phone
As per tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), Lenovo is developing a phone with a giant 7.5-inch display. It is said to be a wide and flat panel and could just resurrect the long-lost "phablet" genre of smartphones. While not much is known about the product, the leak claims that Lenovo is also developing a 1.5K LCD panel. It could hint that the big display phone will sport a 7.5-inch 1.5K LCD.

This comes after ZTE recently showed off its Nubia Neo 5 Max smartphone with a 7.5-inch display. It is going to be a gamer-centric offering and will hit consumer market in April 2026, starting in the USA. Now, with rumours of Lenovo experimenting with a similar sized phone, it could start a new trend of big display phones.
Also, since Lenovo has stopped launching phones in its own brand name, there is a high chance that a future Motorola phone will launch with a 7.5-inch display. However, it is important to note that the development cycle is "average", which indicates this to be more of an afterthought than an active production.
That said, since the flow of information is very limited for this mystery smartphone, we will urge our readers to take the details with a grain of salt. DCS also reveals in the same post that Lenovo is also testing a phone with 200 MP periscope telepoto lens. It is unclear if thje 7.5-inch display phone will feature the sensor. However, it willbe strange to launch a phone with a 200 MP camera but an LCD display.
