Summary

  • Nothing has teased its upcoming Ear (3) truly wireless earbuds in its latest X post.
  • The stem has a brushed metal finish and appears to be wrapped in a transparent casing with the ear (3) text.
  • The company has yet to announce the launch date of the Nothing Ear (3) earbuds.

A few days ago, Nothing teased one of its upcoming products with a cryptic post without revealing any details. The company has today confirmed that the product in question is the Nothing Ear (3), the next product in its growing audio lineup.

Through a new teaser image posted on X, Nothing announced that its next pair of TWS earbuds, the Nothing Ear (3), are coming soon. The teaser image shows what appears to be the stem of an earbud with the text "ear (3)" in the company’s signature Ndot font.

A previous X post for the Nothing Ear (3) revealed a grille-like design, which many fans thought could be hinting at the brand's first Bluetooth speaker. Now that we know it's the Ear (3), the design you see below could likely be the main housing of the earbud.

It's unlikely that the grille belongs to the upper lid of the earbuds' case, unless Nothing is moving away from its transparent design. There's one thing, however, that the brand is leaving behind, and it's their new earbuds naming scheme.

The company followed up the Ear (1) and Ear (2) with the Nothing Ear and Ear (a) in April last year. This confused the buyers, making it difficult for them to judge where the new product fit into the lineup, and whether it was an upgrade or not. That confusion is going away with the Ear (3), and we have an official statement (via Nothing Community) on the switchback.

We listened to feedback regarding naming and understood that it was important for users to return to the straightforward numerical order we had attributed to Ear (1) and Ear (2).

Circling back to the design, the Ear (3) stem, as in previous models, appears to be wrapped around in a transparent casing, which is not clearly visible due to the brushed metal-like design.

As for improvements over the previous generation, we expect the Ear (3) to feature improved noise cancellation, a sturdier build with the teased metal design, and KEF audio tuning. Not much is known about the Ear (3) at the moment.

We don't even have an official release date yet. But, considering the brand usually starts teasing new products a month or so before its launch date, we expect the Nothing Ear (3) to arrive sometime in late September 2025 or early October 2025.

Nothing’s most recent audio launch was the Headphone (1), while its last true wireless earbuds were the Ear and Ear (a) that we referenced above. That said, bookmark Beebom Gadgets for all the latest developments on the Ear (3).
