Nothing has a well-worn habit of teasing new products through Pokémon and it's doing it again. The company's official X account has dropped a pixel-art image depicting Lanturn, the anglerfish-like Water/Electric-type Pokémon. The community believes this could be the brand's much-anticipated first smartwatch, dubbed the Nothing Watch 1.

The brand's teaser post does not have any caption, product name, or anything beyond the image itself, but the timing of it is what could be a big hint.

Back in late July, tipster Yogesh Brar claimed Nothing was working on a smartwatch that would carry the company's own name for the first time, rather than sitting under its budget-focused CMF sub-brand.

According to that leak, the watch was said to feature Nothing's signature design language, launch in September and arrive in a limited set of markets initially. The Nothing Watch 1 price is expected to be set under $300 (approximately Rs 28,500).

That "September" timeline is now here, which is part of why this Lanturn teaser is being read as Nothing Watch 1-related. Lanturn's whole game, for anyone who hasn't touched a Pokémon game recently, is the bioluminescent lure it uses to guide others through dark water. Well, that's not exactly a stretch to associate that with something you'd glance at on your wrist.

Nothing has so far kept smartwatches confined to its CMF sub-brand, with the CMF Watch 3 Pro launch being the most recent in the category. A watch under the main Nothing name would be a first for the company and would likely sit at a noticeably higher price point and spec tier than anything CMF has shipped.

For now, all Nothing has actually given the world is a Lanturn. Whether it turns out to be the Nothing Watch 1, something else entirely, or just Nothing having some fun at everyone's expense, should become clear in the coming days. Stay tuned for all the updates!
