OnePlus is gearing up to launch its upcoming Nord 5 series in India. While the Nord 5 has appeared in several leaks before, nothing was official until now, as OnePlus has shared a teaser today.
The official OnePlus India handle has posted a short teaser video on X, giving us a brief glimpse into the OnePlus Nord 5 smartphone for India. The teaser carries the "Dragon Speed, Elite Performance" slogan and has been posted with a title that reads "You don’t have to train this dragon, it's born elite with speed and performance. Sorry, we changed the game".

While this might mislead some people into thinking that the Nord 5 series will feature the mighty Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it is not the case. The Nord 5 was recently listed on Geekbench with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. This confirms that the repeated "dragon" reference hints at a Snapgradon chipset, but the "Elite" one doesn't translate the same way.
We also get our first glimpse at the back section of the device, specifically the camera module. It carries a dual-camera vertical setup with an LED flash, encased within a pill-shaped camera module. And unlike last year's Nord 4, it seems like OnePlus is ditching the metal back panel with the Nord 5. It appears to be made out of plastic.
As for the other details, the Nord 5 has been speculated to bring a 6.8-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED, with a 7,000mAh battery and 100W wired charging support. The dual camera setup will be home to a 50 MP primary shooter and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. The selfie camera is expected to offer a 16 MP snapper.
With that being said, although the teaser says "coming soon" with no confirmed launch date, an early leak hinted at a July 8, 2025 release for the Nord 5 in India. We can expect an official launch date confirmation coming from the brand anytime soon.
