Oppo has silently launched its A5 5G budget smartphone in India today. The smartphone packs the Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 6,000mAh battery along with some focus on its durability. With that said, here's a quick rundown of the phone's detailed specifications, pricing and availability details.
Oppo A5 5G Specifications and Features
The brand's latest budget offering is quite durable, thanks to what the brand is calling a "Damage-Proof 360° Armour Body". Besides, the device also flaunts an IP65 rating for protection against the elements.
Moving on, the Oppo A5 5G features a 6.67-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. This display is placed on a 7.9mm body that weighs around 194 grams.
At the back, on the top-left, there is a rectangular camera module which houses a vertical dual-camera setup and a ring LED flash. This setup includes a 50 MP primary shooter with auto focus and support for videos of up to 1080p @ 30 FPS. The second camera is a 2 MP monochrome sensor. At the front, there is an 8 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
Under the hood, there is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, paired with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
The other standout feature of the Oppo A5 5G is its 6,000mAh battery. Oppo is claiming that even after five years, the device will retain 80% of its battery capacity. It also supports 45W wired fast charging, and Oppo claims that 21 minutes of charging will take the battery from 0 to 30%.
On the software side, the A5 5G runs on Colour OS 15 based on Android 15. And Oppo has promised 2 years of software upgrades and 3 years of security updates for the device.
Apart from this, the Oppo A5 5G also gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a bottom-firing speaker, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, dual 5G SIM support, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port.
Oppo A5 5G Price in India and Sale Date
The Oppo A5 5G starts at Rs 15,499 for the 6 GB + 128 GB variant. Meanwhile, the 8 GB + 128 GB variant retails for Rs 16,999. The device is already up for sale via the official Oppo India e-store and can be availed in either the Aurora Green or Mist White colour option.
