Oppo has long focused on delivering a reliable hardware and software experience across its devices. Now, the brand is taking that commitment further with Apex Guard, its latest technology suite to enhance the performance, security and overall user experience of its devices.
Oppo Apex Guard is born out of continuous material R&D
The Apex Guard Lab is set up at Oppo's Binhai Bay global headquarters and R&D hub in China. This new initiative is part of the expanding Binhai Bay Campus, which has been, for the longest time, part of the year after year innovation and advancements that we have seen from Oppo.
With Apex Guard, the brand is focusing on three key dimensions – quality beyond everyday use, quality beyond product lifespan and quality beyond existing industry standards. All of these are made possible by the continuous material breakthroughs that the brand has achieved in terms of structural design and testing.

Apex Guard is also the result of Oppo's long-term collaboration with different durability brands and testing organisations. With TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD and SGS, Oppo has conducted over 180 device tests in the R&D stage alone. Most of them have been done solely for the purpose of extending the longevity of their smartphones.
The upcoming Find X9 series in India shows how much work Oppo has put into materials. The Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro use strong components like ultra-high-strength steel, AM04 aerospace-grade aluminium and Oppo's new Armour Shield protection. Even the batteries have been upgraded with new silicon-carbon cells that can last about 400 extra cycles.

Moreover, Apex Guard is not limited to hardware and seeps into Oppo's software as well. The Android 16-based skin, ColorOS 16, has integrated Apex Guard elements like the new Luminous Rendering Engine, Unified Animation Architecture, Dynamic Frame Sync Technology and Sensor-Offload for reduced power consumption.
So, with Apex Guard, Oppo has set up the stage for a more unified software and hardware durability through extensive research and development. Oppo says that Apex Guard will not be limited to its flagship phones only. From the "entry-level A Series to the flagship Find Series", Apex Guard will seep into every price point, allowing the brand to create a quality portfolio.
