Oppo has introduced Xiaobu Next, an upcoming update to ColorOS' AI features aimed at transitioning mobile AI from passive to proactive assistance. In the latest announcement from Oppo, the embedded video reveals ColorOS' Product Manager Haizhou describing what the next era of Oppo's Agentic AI will be like.
The video describes Xiaobu Next as the industry's first on-device multi-agent collaborative system, pairing full-time contextual awareness with deep local data integration. The on-device LLM and Private Compute Core trusted link will have access to a user's personal data across photos, calendar, notes and emails.

Instead of prompting users for preferences, the AI takes data from this stored context for tailored recommendations across apps. It will initiate things such as retrieving invoices across connected devices or integrating with third-party apps to suggest things to read.
According to Oppo, Xiaobu Next will boast a full-time intent perception engine that will also recommend time-sensitive activities. Thanks to location, weather, and current activity access, the AI can automatically do things like draft bi-weekly work summaries ahead of deadlines or compile movie breakdown analyses upon leaving a theatre.

Besides, Oppo states that its next major milestone will also go live with the next AI update. That includes multi-agent collaboration where AI personas can interact with each other in shared group spaces to do the work for users. This also includes cross-device coordination between smart home appliances and connected vehicles.
As for privacy, Oppo says that everything will be done locally, on-device. Tasks that require cloud assistance will rely on PCC, featuring end-to-end encryption, and the data will be destroyed immediately.
Finally, Oppo has also announced a device support roadmap for Xiaobu Next. Support for new Agentic AI will initially roll out to the Oppo Find X9 series, Find X8, OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15T, OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13T in China. More information about the same should be revealed as we inch closer to the release, so stay tuned.
