Poco M7 Plus 5G Launched in India with a 7,000mAh Battery

Poco has finally launched its latest "M" series smartphone, the M7 Plus 5G, in India. It features a massive 7,000mAh battery and some other key upgrades over its predecessor, like a 144 Hz display. With that said, here's a detailed look at the specifications, pricing and availability details of Poco's latest budget phone.

Poco M7 Plus 5G Specifications and Features

Starting with one of the key USP's of the Poco M7 Plus 5G, it features a massive 7,000mAh silicon carbon battery, keeping up with the latest trend. That's 2,000mAh more capacity than the Poco M6 Plus 5G's 5,030mAh battery. However, there is only support for 33W in terms of wired charging. The device also features 18W reverse wired charging support.

The device also features a bigger 6.9-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel in comparison to its predecessor's 6.79-inch screen. The refresh rate has also been bumped up from 120 Hz to 144 Hz. It is also backed by TUV Rheinland Blue Light, Flicker Free and Circadian certifications.

The panel is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 and is surrounded by even bezels on the sides. However, it does feature a noticeable chin at the bottom. There is also a single-centred punch-hole selfie camera cutout. 

Even though the device has a big screen and battery, it is still 8.4 mm thick and weighs 217 grams. It even features a gamer-esque design with a red and blue top and bottom colour strips (Chrome Silver variant only) and a segmented back panel (Aqua Blue and Chrome Silver). 

Under the hood, the M7 Plus 5G gets the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 mobile platform, which can be paired with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The device also features the option to virtually extend the onboard RAM by up to 8 GB.

The smartphone is running on Xiaomi's Hyper OS based on Android 15. Poco is promising two years of software upgrades and four years of security updates for the M7 Plus 5G.

Coming to the cameras, there is a 50 MP main rear sensor paired with a 2 MP depth module. The selfie shooter is an 8 MP unit.

Apart from this, the smartphone is IP64 rated and comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a mono speaker setup. In terms of connectivity, there is support for dual 5G SIMs, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, Infrared sensor and a USB-C 2.0 charging cum audio port.

Poco M7 Plus 5G Price in India and Sale Date

Poco has launched the M7 Plus 5G in India for Rs 13,999 for the 6 GB + 128 GB variant. There is also an 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage model that can be availed for Rs 14,999.

Both RAM and storage variants will go on sale starting August 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM IST via Flipkart. Interested buyers can purchase the smartphone in the Aqua Blue, Carbon Black and Chrome Silver hues.

From the looks of it, the Poco M7 Plus 5G is a solid option in the segment and most likely one of the best phones under Rs 15,000 in the country.
