Redmi has announced the immenent arrival of its next budget smartphone in India. The brand has confirmed the launch date of its Redmi A7 Pro 5G and it will pack several standout features like battery, display, software and more.
Redmi A7 Pro 5G Launch in India Set for Next Week
The official Redmi India X account has confirmed that the Redmi A7 Pro 5G will launch in India on April 13, 2026. It will be unveiled at 12:00 PM IST via Amazon India. A dedicated Redmi India microsite has also revealed some of the key specs of the smartphone along with its design.
It follows the same pill-shaped camera island look as its predecessor, the Redmi A5 4G and features a wavy-textured back with bright Orange colourway. On the inside, the smartphone has been confirmed to feature a big 6,300mAh battery.
At the front, there will be a 6.9-inch LCD panel with a waterdrop-style notch at the top for the selfie camera and a relatively thick chin. For performance, while Redmi has not explicitly stated the SoC in use, it mentions an octa-core 5G chipset. This confirms that, unlike A5's 4G connectivity, A7 Pro will feature 5G network.

As for other details, the landing page mentions HyperOS 3 update based on Android 16, a 32 MP primary rear camera and top-notch endurance. Beyond that, no other detail regarding the Redmi A7 Pro 5G has been revealed at the time of writing.
That said, it is easy to gather from the released specs that Redmi is targeting the budget segment with its upcoming launch. Hence, we expect a starting price of Rs 10,000 for the Redmi A7 Pro 5G. We are unclear as to why Redmi skipped the A6 and jumped straight to the A7 Pro. However, with the launch happening in just a few days, we shall know more soon.
