After weeks of teasers, the Redmi Buds 8 is now official in China as the next offering in Redmi's ever expanding audio portfolio. These are affordable truly wireless earphones that bring some great value with features like Hi-res audio support, 50 dB ANC, more than a day's worth of battery life and more.
Redmi Buds 8 Specifications and Features
The all-new Redmi Buds 8 follow the stem style in-ear design that we saw with the previous Redmi TWS earbuds. It comes inside a squircle charging case with a blade light at the front for charging and pairing indication and is offered in three colour options - Lime White, Cyan, Dusk Black.
On the inside, the Redmi Buds 8 feature 11mm dynamic drivers with support for Hi-Res wireless audio and LHDC 5.0 support. The earbuds feature a 50% boost in maximum amplitude, with a better bass response and pronounced mids and highs.
Additionally, it supports five different EQ presents and a dedicated custom EQ tuner via the companion Redmi app. Most importantly, Redmi has also added Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) of up to 50 dB, along with a dedicated Transparency mode and Adaptive Noise Controls.

In terms of battery life, the Redmi Buds 8 are long lasting thanks to a 44 hour rated battery life. Each earbuds pack a 62mAh cell while the charging case bringing a 475mAh capacity. However, with ANC turned on, the earbuds are rated to last for only 28 hours.
For connectivity, the TWS earbuds use Bluetooth 5.4, support dual device pairing, wear detection, gesture controls and Google Fast Pair. It also brings a dedicated 45 ms ultra-low latency mode and IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
Lastly, in terms of pricing, the Redmi Buds 8 cost 229 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 3,200). They are now available to purchase via the Xiaomi China website and are available in three colour options. Xiaomi has also scheduled the launch of Redmi K90 Max and Redmi K Pad 2 in China for later today. So, stay tuned.
