Back in 2010, Xiaomi launched a budget-focused sub-brand, Redmi. For more than 15 years, Redmi has launched smartphones and accessories under its name in India and in markets like Europe and China. Now, the brand is prepping for the future with a tweaked brand refresh.
The Redmi official handle on X today, that is August 6, 2025, announced the brand refresh. At first glance, not much appears to be changed. It is the same red-coloured logo that we are used to seeing.
However, the logo is now written in all-bold letters and bears a new font. Redmi now spells "REDMI".
Redmi is now the new REDMI.

The brand says that this new change is in response to the changing aspirations and demands of the Indian audience for Redmi as a smartphone brand. Xiaomi India Chief Operating Officer (COO), Sudhin Mathur, says that the new Redmi will be “now bolder, more confident, and more uncompromising in fuelling limitless aspirations.”
Redmi has always stood for making the impossible possible. Over the past decade, we were often the first smartphone for millions of Indians. Their trust and feedback shaped our path. Today, those users have grown, and so have we. The new Redmi identity reflects this shared evolution. Young India is bold yet grounded, ambitious yet self-aware. We are not leaving behind who we were, but becoming who our users need us to be. This rebranding is a tribute to the resilience, clarity, and progress we see in our community every day. As our users grow, we grow. As they dream bigger, we continue to build for them.
— Sudhin Mathur, Chief Operating Officer at Xiaomi India
This new logo refresh will go live starting August 19, 2025. It will feature alongside the Redmi 15 5G smartphone that will also debut on the same day.
The smartphone is said to feature a 6.9-inch 144 Hz display with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 and a 7,000mAh battery inside. The device will run on Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. It will also feature a dual 50 MP camera with a triple rear camera setup.
Redmi 15 5G is confirmed to launch in the Frosted White, Sandy Purple and Midnight Black colourways.
