Samsung is bridging the gap between its older and newer flagships in One UI 9.0 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S24 series. The update is now rolling out, bringing features like Now Nudge and Call Brief directly to the older flagships.
One UI 9.0 AI Features Rolling Out to Galaxy S24 Series
One UI 9.0 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S24 series squashes a lot of bugs, but more importantly, brings AI features that were announced for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 series. For those unaware, the phones arrived with One UI 9.0 out of the box and held exclusivity for the features until the Beta rolled out to the Galaxy S26 series.
Further breaking its exclusivity with older Samsung flagships, the list of all the features rolling out to the Galaxy S24 series includes Call Brief, My FanCam, Now Brief Custom Cards and Now Nudge.
For those unaware, Call Brief is similar to Magic Cue on Google Pixel smartphones. It shows users relevant contextual information on the call screen when they're dialling someone or a service. Now Nudge works similarly across the UI, displaying relevant contextual actions from calendar events to autofill prompts.
Similarly, the Custom Cards feature in Now Brief lets users get data from various apps and display it all in one place for perusal. Lastly, My FanCam is a neat software trick that auto-crops and tracks a particular subject in the video, focusing on them.
Beyond these aforementioned AI features, some of the other One UI 9 features include a flexible Quick Settings panel, smoother animation, Samsung DeX improvements, and more customisations.
With One UI 9.0 beta testing in full swing, the stable update is expected to hit the Galaxy S26 series users by the end of this month. It could arrive on the Galaxy S25 series in the first few weeks of October 2026, and on the Galaxy S24 series by the end of October 2026.
More concrete details about the rollout should be revealed as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
