Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition in India. It's an 8-inch tablet that's meant for businesses and frontline workers who need a device that can take a serious beating. So, here's a detailed rundown of the tablet's specifications, as well as its pricing and availability details in India.

Samsung took to an official Newsroom post to announce the arrival of Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition to Indian shores. The tablet packs an 8-inch WUXGA display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It also comes bundled with an S Pen inside the box.

The tablet packs Gorilla Glass 5 protection with an IP68 rating and a rugged construction. It's tested for MIL-STD-810H, a US military standard which tests how the device performs under extreme temperatures, altitude, humidity and shock.

Powering the device is Exynos 1380, an octa-core chipset based on Samsung's 5 nm manufacturing process. The tablet boasts up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 1 TB using a microSD card. 

There's a 5,050mAh battery, which is user-replaceable and can charge at 15W via Type-C and POGO pins. Samsung says the tablet has a No Battery mode, where it can run without a battery while connected to external power.

Coming to the optics, the tablet features a single rear 13 MP primary  f/1.9 snapper with an LED flash, alongside a 5 MP front f/2.2 camera. The Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition comes with Android 15 out of the box, with an update promise of 7 years. Samsung also offers a 36-month warranty on the tablet.

Lastly, buyers get access to a 12-month complimentary subscription to the Knox Suite Enterprise Security Platform worth Rs 4,515, which offers a set of tools to secure and manage devices. The tablet also features Programmable keys with Push-to-talk capability.

Connectivity-wise, it boasts 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and a USB 2.0 Type-C port at the bottom. The tablet also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, alongside all the vital sensors including Accelerometer, Fingerprint, Proximity, Hall, Gyroscope and Ambient light sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 Price in India and Availability

 The Galaxy Tab Active 5 starts at Rs 49,999 for the base 6 GB + 128 GB variant. There's also an 8 GB + 256 GB variant of the device, and it costs Rs 56,999. The device is available in only one colour, i.e., Green.

As for availability, advanced bookings of the device open today, i.e., August 18, 2025, onwards. The tablet can only be bought by businesses by filling in an enquiry form to get in touch with Samsung. For those unaware, Samsung also has a rugged smartphone called the XCover 7 Pro, which was launched in April 2025.
