Tecno has gained significant traction with its budget "Spark" smartphone lineup over the years. While the Tecno Spark 40 was skipped for India, it looks like the brand is prepping to launch the Spark 50 in the country soon.
Tecno Spark 50 has been listed in the IMEI database
Tipster Paras Guglani, via his tech publication Passionategeekz, has revealed the IMEI database listing of the upcoming Tecno Spark 50 in India. It has revealed a phone from Tecno with the 'KN5' model number.
If true, this could mark the return of the Spark series in India after almost a year-long gap. After the Tecno Spark 20 launched in India in 2024, Tecno skipped both the Spark 30 and the Spark 40 for the country. Now, it looks like with Spark 50, the brand is reconsidering its position.
Other than that, Guglani has not made any comment regarding the specifications of the upcoming smartphone. Tecno will obviously position the Spark 50 as a budget smartphone and hence we believe, will ship with the following specifications:
- HD+ IPS LCD display
- MediaTek Helio G90 processor
- HiOS based on Android 16
- 50 MP main camera
- 8 MP front camera
- 5,000mAh battery and 15W charging
That said, none of the above-mentioned details are official. So, take them with a pinch of salt. Since the Spark 40 launched globally in July 2025, we do not expect Tecno to launch the Spark 50 in 2025 itself. It could see a potential launch window in the first quarter of 2026. We will make sure to report on the same once official details are out.
