The Vivo X Fold 5 has been a rumour mill favourite lately, letting us in on some specifications as well as an expected launch date. Well, it's finally official as the Vivo X Fold 5 is now scheduled to launch in China on June 25, 2025, at 7:00 PM CST (or 5:30 AM IST).
The brand took to Weibo to announce the launch date as well as a couple of posters that give us a glimpse at the foldable. The Weibo post translates to “We invite you to the launch of the Vivo X Fold 5 and witness lighter and stronger.” The firm also posted an image showcasing how thin the device will be.
Besides, in another post on the platform, Vivo confirmed the official colours of the device. It will come in three of them, notably White, Green, and Titanium.

As for the specifications, the Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to arrive with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage. The USP of the device is expected to be its lightweight and slim body as well as its build quality. While rumours suggest it will be powered by the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, being the latest flagship, it could arrive with the 8 Elite too.
When unfolded, the phone is expected to be just 4.3 mm thick, just shy of Oppo Find N5's 4.2 mm. When folded, it's expected to be 9.33 mm thick. Despite its dimensions, the X Fold5 could boast a massive 6,000 mAh silicon carbon battery with 90W fast charging and 30W wireless charging.
Lastly, the inner display is expected to be an 8.03-inch unit with a maximum peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Meanwhile, the cover display could be a 6.53-inch panel.
From the looks of it, the Vivo X Fold 5 will lock horns with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 or even the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra, which is expected to be the slimmest foldable Samsung has ever launched. With Samsung Unpacked coming next month, it should be interesting to see how both the foldables fare against each other.
