Summary

  • Vivo Y500 Pro is launching in China on November 10, 2025 at 4:30 PM IST.
  • It is going to use the 200 MP Samsung HP5 main camera sensor, a first for a mid-range phone in the country.
  • Other key specs of the Vivo Y500 Pro include 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED display, OriginOS 6 and 7,000mAh battery.

After launching the X300 series last month, Vivo has shifted its focus back to its "Y" series in China. It launched the Y500 back in September. Now, the brand is looking to add the Y500 Pro to the mix with a major camera upgrade.

Vivo Y500 Pro to debut in China next week with a 200 MP main camera

The Vice President of Products at Vivo, Huang Tao, broke the news via his official Weibo handle. He revealed that Vivo will launch the Y500 Pro in China on November 10, 2025 at 19:00 CST (4:30 PM IST). It will mark the debut of the first mid-range phone in the country with a 200 MP main camera.

Tao has further confirmed that the brand will use the recently launched 200 MP Samsung HP5 sensor as the main camera for the smartphone. It will feature an f/1.9 aperture and will bring CIPA 4.0 professional-grade image stabilization. This marks a noteworthy generational upgrade, since the Vivo Y300 Pro only managed to pack a 50 MP main camera.

Aside from the main camera upgrade, the Vivo Y500 Pro will also become the first phone in the series to ship with OriginOS 6 update based on Android 16 out of the box. Additionally, the smartphone will also gain a 7,000mAh big battery compared to the 6,500mAh cell on the Y300 Pro. Charging speed is also getting a 10W bump with 90W fast USB-C charging support on the Y500 Pro.

Other than that, Tao's post has also revealed that the upcoming phone will feature a 6.6-inch 1.5K 120 Hz OLED display. The back will be made out of AG glass with a Satin-like finish and an official IP68 + IP69 rating for dust and water resistance will protect the overall smartphone.

As for the performance, the processor remains undisclosed officially at the time of writing. However, as per the Geekbench listing of the Y500 Pro shared by tipster @ZionsAnvin, the device has been revealed to rock the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor with the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. This is a capable mid-range SoC and the fact that Tao has mentioned 120 FPS gaming on MOBA, is a clear indication of the said chipset's existence.

That said, since the official launch is just a few more days away, expect the processor of the phone to go official as well, along with other details. The Y500 Pro closely resembles the Vivo V60e, which launched in India sometime back for Rs 29,999. Hence, expect the smartphone to launch around the same ballbpark in China as well.
