Earlier this year, we got to know that WhatsApp is working on a new WhatsApp Plus subscription plan. Now, WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out the paid tier to iPhone users, bringing a range of customisations that were previously spotted in the Android beta.

The latest information comes from the WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, which reports that the optional subscription is now appearing for some users running the latest stable iOS 26.17.7 version of the app.

As per the report, WhatsApp Plus is designed as an optional premium tier that adds aesthetic enhancements and extra convenience features without affecting the app's core messaging experience. Standard users will still retain access to messaging, voice calls and end-to-end encryption for free.

WhatsApp Plus Features on iPhone

Thanks to previous leaks, we already knew of some WhatsApp Plus features that have now made it to the official version.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Plus subscribers can customise the app with up to 18 different theme colours. Users can now replace WhatsApp's traditional green interface with themes such as Royal Purple, Deep Navy, Forest Green and Crimson Red.

Additionally, the WhatsApp Plus subscription adds support for 14 alternate app icons, including minimalist monochrome designs and more decorative styles.

WhatsApp Plus users additionally gain access to exclusive premium sticker packs featuring animated overlay effects that can appear directly within chats. Interestingly, even users without the subscription can still view these animated sticker packs when shared in conversations.

Another major WhatsApp Plus feature is letting users pin up to 20 chats at the top of the chat list. Currently, regular WhatsApp users can pin only up to three chats.

The premium plan is also said to improve chat list management with bulk customisation tools. Subscribers will be able to apply a shared theme, ringtone or notification tone across an entire chat category in a single action.

"For example, if a subscriber creates a list that contains all their work colleagues, they can apply a single chat theme to all included conversations with one selection," WABetaInfo notes.

On top of that, WhatsApp Plus introduces 10 exclusive ringtones, including options like Flutter, Ripple, Meadow and Carnival.

WhatsApp Plus Price and Availability

As per the latest report, WhatsApp Plus currently uses a monthly subscription model with automatic renewal. Pricing may vary by region, but it currently costs 2.49 euros (approximately Rs 280) per month in parts of Europe. Some users may also receive a one-week or one-month trial before billing begins.

The subscription is currently limited to a small number of iOS users and is only available on the standard WhatsApp messenger app, not WhatsApp Business. Meta is expected to expand availability to more users over the coming weeks.
