Xiaomi has teased its upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro series and has confirmed the flagship will make its debut in China later this month. A new teaser video shared on Weibo focuses on the smartphone's rear display.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Will House an AI-Powered Display on the Back

The teaser shows a Xiaomi 18 Pro unit from the back showcasing the phrase "生成中" in Chinese, which translates to "Generating". It is surrounded by a vibrant neon glow across the camera unit, suggesting the series could retain a similar rear display as seen on the Xiaomi 17 Pro.

This could imply that the Xiaomi 18 Pro's secondary display could have more generative AI capabilities. Xiaomi is doubling down on its secondary screen format, and it's backed by the company's data, suggesting that the rear displays on the Xiaomi 17 Pro were used over 4 million times a day.

While the teaser doesn't reveal much about the phone, the video shows a triple rear camera setup. Two of the three lenses are on the rectangular camera bar with the display wrapped around, while the third camera is right below, alongside an LED flash.

The power and volume buttons can be seen on the right side. There's also a new button on the left side, which may function as a dedicated AI key, as seen on competitor phones.

Additionally, information from Digital Chat Station suggests the bezels around the rear display have been noticeably reduced, and the front-facing camera is being moved to a new position.

Furthermore, early industry insights suggest the larger secondary display might feature a privacy mode like on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The reason for this is currently unknown. Xiaomi is expected to reveal more information about the phone tomorrow.

With a launch officially slated for this month, expect a steady stream of hardware confirmations in the coming weeks. Until then, stay tuned.
