Xiaomi has officially expanded its wearable portfolio in China with the launch of the Xiaomi Watch 5. It brings the same circular dial design with now improved health tracking, fitness and wellness and Xiaomi HyperOS 3 features. Kicking things off with the design and display, the Watch 5 from Xiaomi features a 47mm 316L polished stainless steel frame with a functional crown and back button on the right side. It sports a 1.54-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels. The refresh rate is limited to 60 Hz and the brightness goes all the way up to 1,500 nits.

Under the hood, the smartwatch offers a dual-chip architecture with the Snapdragon W5 processor and the BES 2800 chipset. It also brings all the necessary sensors to the table like heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen sensor, barometer and a temperature sensor.
Moreover, this is also the first Xiaomi smartwatch to bring support for both EMG (electromyography) and ECG (electrocardiogram). As for the software, it runs on HyperOS 3 and brings several new features like dynamic watch faces, Super Island for notifications, OTPs and more, and Super Xiao AI support for translation and voice commands.

The Xiaomi Watch 5 is also loaded when it comes to fitness and wellness. It offers over 150 sports modes with support for more than 80 equipment-based courses and 3D tutorials. There is also an advanced sleep monitoring feature with a 21-day optimisation plan.
Other than that, the smartwatch also brings support for gesture and hand tracking. It includes single pinch, double pinch and fist gestures. Users can also answer calls and control cross-platform devices.

As for the smartwatch's battery life, Xiaomi has housed a 930mAh cell, which can last up to six days of regular usage. It can even stretch to 18 days in Low Power Mode. For charging, the Watch 5 can top up using a magnetic dock.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.4 with calling support, a built-in microphone, a speaker, GPS, e-SIM and NFC support.
Pricing-wise, the Xiaomi Watch 5 starts at 1,999 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 26,000). It can go all the way up to 2,299 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 30,000).
