Apple just confirmed its iPhone 17 series launch event on September 9, 2025 and as previous rumours have pointed out, the event will also see the release of the next generation AirPods Pro 3. A new leak has surfaced online which reveals key changes in terms of design of the upcoming AirPods model.
According to Asher Dipprey on X, the AirPods Pro 3 is going to take some inspiration from the AirPods 4 by incorporating a smaller charging case. It's also suggested that this case will no longer feature the pairing button. These changes will make the Apple's current AirPods lineup more uniform.
With a reduced size of the charging case, it's likely that the earbuds may also shrink to fit. It's similar to what happened with the AirPods 4 last year.

Corroborating on a post of his own, leaker Majin Bu has hinted that the pairing button would be replaced by "touch controls" on the AirPods Pro 3. This would allow users to control playback, volume and pair with devices right from the charging case.
Apart from these changes, the AirPods Pro 3 may retain a similar look from previous models. The upcoming audio product is also expected to support lanyard cables like previous models.
AirPods Pro 3 is going to be just one of the releases expected at Apple's "Awe dropping" event on September 9, 2025. The Cupertino company is also set to launch the upcoming iPhone 17 series, the third-generation Watch SE, Watch Ultra 3 and Watch Series 11.
