Apple will announce the iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025. The Cupertino company has now confirmed the "Awe dropping" event via official channels and is officially sending out invites for the launch of its four new iPhone 17 models.
As per its recent tradition, the "Awe dropping" event will be hosted at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, California. The event will be livestreamed across the globe on September 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM PT or 10:30 PM IST via Apple.com, Apple TV app and their official YouTube channel.

The wording on the event name appears to be a play on "jaw dropping". So, it's possible that Apple here is referring to how thin the iPhone 17 Air would be. The Apple logo in the event invite throws off shades of dark blue, light blue, yellow and orange hues, which could hint at the potential new iPhone 17 colours.
For context, Light Blue is expected to be one of the colourways featured on the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air, while dark blue and orange have been rumoured to be part of the iPhone 17 Pro lineup. We're, however, not sure whether the yellow hue refers to the Light Gold colour on the Air model. If not, this could be one of the colour variants on any of Apple's other upcoming devices.
The September 9, 2025 falls in line with an earlier information which was leaked in internal data from German mobile operators. It reiterates the Mark Gurman's earlier speculation which suggested a launch event in the second week of September 2025.
During the "Awe dropping" event, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and the ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air models. The Apple AirPods 3, Watch Series 11, Watch Ultra 3 and Watch SE (3rd generation) are also likely to debut alongside the new iPhones.
As always, the iPhone 17 series will be the centre of attention at the event, and they're expected to come with an all-new design and new Apple A19 and A19 Pro chipsets. We'll also see the company's first ever slim phone in the form of the iPhone 17 Air, which will be just under 5.65mm in thickness and will be the only iPhone in the lineup to feature a Titanium frame.
Soon after the "Awe dropping" event, we can expect Apple to offer the new iPhone models on pre-order from the following Friday, i.e., September 12, 2025 and shipping and delivery could begin exactly a week after, on September 19, 2025. With just weeks to go, we'll know more about the upcoming devices as we approach Apple's "Awe dropping" event.
