Airtel Customers Can Now Enjoy a Year of Free Perplexity Pro

Airtel is one of the leading telecom service providers in India, with an estimated 360 million customer base. Now, the brand has announced a strategic partnership with Perplexity AI, offering 12 months of uninterrupted Perplexity Pro access for free.

In an official press release, Airtel announced its collaboration with Perplexity. As per the partnership, each and every Airtel customer will get access to Perplexity Pro for free for the duration of a year, from the date of activation. This subscription is worth $200 (approximately Rs 17,000).

This includes prepaid, postpaid, DTH and Wi-Fi users who currently have an active plan with Airtel. Users can visit the Airtel Thanks app on both Android and iOS to avail this offer. When users open the app, this new partnership can be seen heavily marketed via clickable banners. In case it's not visible that way, users can head over to the Rewards & OTTs section to claim this benefit. 

Do note that this is a limited time offer and Airtel has kept the offer redemption window open from July 17, 2025, to January 17, 2026. 

Now, in case you are an existing Perplexity Pro user, this new benefit will automatically get added to the queue, once you avail this benefit. It will commence once your existing paid membership ends. Also, for the entire Perplexity Pro validity duration, users will need to be an active member of Airtel for that time.

As part of the Perplexity Pro tier plan, users will be able to access up to ten times more citations in answers, get files and photos analysed via Perplexity, generate AI images with Perplexity's image playground and get access to Pro perks like API credits, access to latest AI models like GPT 4.0, Claude and more.

Even access to Perplexity Labs and Perplexity Research is included within the Pro Plan. For those unaware, Labs lets users create useful outputs like reports, spreadsheets, dashboards and even simple web apps with the help of AI.

With Perplexity Research, users can ask Perplexity AI to conduct in-depth research and analysis on their behalf. Pro users get unlimited Deep Research queries, unlike free users who are restricted to limited queries. This gives users the ability to conduct research with reasoning, AI agent compiled report writing and more.

This is a welcoming move from Airtel and Perplexity in India, where AI is accelerating at a blazing fast pace, but access to the top-end AI tools is still limited. Especially for students, this new offer is a cherry on top offering since recently Google also made its AI Pro Plan free for students for a year, which normally costs Rs 19,500. So, in case you are a student and an Airtel user, you can now have access to both Gemini AI Pro and Perplexity Pro for absolutely free, bringing the total offered value to Rs 36,500.
