Airtel has increased the prices of its postpaid plans by Rs 50, with the new prices coming into effect from October 8, 2026. However, the telecom operator is adding a new benefit in return, with all its new postpaid plans now including one free international roaming trip per SIM every year.

All six plans come with unlimited data and calling, Airtel's spam and fraud protection, and Fast Lane on 5G, which Airtel says gives postpaid users priority on its network. The higher-priced plans also bundle more OTT and cloud services.
And, as mentioned before, each SIM gets one free international roaming trip per year, while every member of a family plan gets their own free trip. The complimentary roaming pack is valid for five days and includes 5 GB of data, 60 minutes of outgoing calls, 25 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS. Customers can also activate the pack whenever they need it instead of having it start automatically.
This comes shortly after Vodafone Idea introduced free international roaming on select plans, making Airtel the latest major operator to bundle roaming benefits into its postpaid offerings.

How To Get The New Airtel Postpaid Plans
Airtel has confirmed that the new plans will go live on October 8, 2026. Existing Airtel postpaid users will be able to upgrade via the Airtel Thanks app or by visiting an Airtel Store.
For prepaid users, they will first need to switch to Airtel postpaid to avail the plans. The same applies to users on other networks, since they will first need to port to an Airtel SIM or obtain a new Airtel SIM.
That said, on paper, Vodafone Idea's offer looks more generous, with up to three trips a year and support for prepaid users. However, Airtel's benefits bundle OTT subscriptions, including Netflix and Apple Music on higher plans, as well as Apple Cloud+. Hence, depending on your needs, both Airtel and Vi have free roaming plans to offer.
