Apple has officially seeded the seventh developer beta for iOS 27 as it wraps up its testing cycle ahead of the September launch. While the iOS 27 Beta 7 release doesn't bring any visual overhauls or new features, this developer beta fixes a few bugs and is widely expected to be rebranded as iOS 27 Public Beta 5 in the future.
What's New in iOS 27 Beta 7?
Those expecting major visual overhauls will be disappointed. With the public release rapidly approaching, Apple is mostly working on improving under-the-hood performance and squashing remaining bugs.
Some of the immediately noticeable front-facing improvements that a few users noticed on Reddit in Beta 7 include a snappier launch speed for the Camera app. Besides, some users on X reported Siri being a tad bit faster and a new splash intro for Siri AI.
Otherwise, the update fixes a few key bugs plaguing the experience, such as resolving banner mismatches in the Mail app and eliminating false "delayed" flight alerts.
Besides, Safari-related bugs where the extension toggle would become unresponsive and the tab bar would glitch and vanish have also been fixed. Beyond that, an issue that prevented users from renaming or deleting files with specific Unicode names has been ironed out.
Some of the other fixes include a rendering bug affecting the blur effect in Portrait mode. The Advanced Dictation Preview toggle has been relocated back to its proper home under Keyboard > Dictation.
However, users have still reported broken features and issues, including Siri lag in CarPlay during poor signal or high heat, occasional status bar blur glitches, and quirks where Siri struggles to target photos by number or misapplies commands to unselected search results.
As the final launch looms, iOS 27 has turned out to be a very important update for Apple and its ecosystem. Some of the key iOS 27 features coming soon are revamped Siri AI, a customisable Camera app and AI Photo Editing tools.
