Earlier this week, Apple had its much awaited WWDC 2026 event and it saw the arrival of now OS systems like iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate. Alongside them, the Cupertino brand also announced a bunch of new software upgrades for AirPods, including support for Siri AI. They are now finally rolling out with a new beta update.
Now AirPods Beta Update Brings iOS 27 Features
Apple has now seeded a new beta update to AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2, bringing several of the announced iOS 27 features at WWDC 2026. It carries the 9A5292e build number and at the time of writing, only developers have access to the firmware.

As part of this update, the first big noticeable change is in the AirPods interface, which now offers a revamped UI with improved information hierarchy, making it easier for users to access the most important features right away.
The update has also added the new custom EQ for AirPods shown at the WWDC event. Users will now get a new "Custom" option to tune the frequency graph to their desired audio output. It is fairly basic and has five level EQ customisation and allows users to see the sound signature change in real time.
Lastly, AirPods will now support integration with Siri AI, helping users access the new avatar of Siri right from their AirPods. It will let them use their voice to conduct AI-powered search, file analysis and context-aware multi-step processes.
That said, the new update is currently limited to developers only and should roll out to general users in the coming months. So, in case you own a compatible pair of AirPods, make sure to update them when the general firmware ships.
