Alongside the Apple Watch Series 11 and the Apple Watch Ultra 3, the brand has also launched its more affordable and toned-down offering of the lot – the Apple Watch SE 3. It brings a new processor, larger displays and new health features. Here is a detailed specification, pricing and availability rundown of the smartwatch.
Apple Watch SE 3 Specifications and Features
The Apple Watch SE 3 boast a similar design to that of the 2022 Watch SE 2. It still features a square display unit with rounded edges and an aluminium casing. However, the sizes of the smartwatches are different this time. Alongside the 44mm option, there is now a smaller 40mm size as well. For context, the Watch SE 2 featured 41mm and 44mm options.
Both are still Retina LTPO OLED panels with Ion-X glass protection and up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. However, unlike the Apple Watch SE 2, Apple has finally added Always On Display support with the Watch SE 3. Apart from this, the latest SE smartwatch retains the speaker grill on the left with the digital crown and the side button located on the right.
One of the significant upgrades the Watch SE 3 brings over its predecessor is in terms of performance. The SE 3 shares the same Apple-made S10 chipset, which is also present on the more premium Watch Series 10 series. It brings a notable upgrade over the S8 processor used in the Watch SE 2.
It is said to be 20% more powerful than the S8 SoC and is much more efficient in terms of power management. Apple claims that the smartwatch should easily last up to 18 hours in normal usage. This is also partly facilitated by the larger battery on the SE 3 compared to the SE 2. It also comes with fast charging support.
The Apple Watch SE 3 ships with the latest watchOS 26 out of the box with Liquid Glass design and new features like AI-based health and fitness coaching and more.
Speaking of features, the Watch SE 3 has finally gained support for Sleep Apnea Detection. Introduced back in 2024 with the Watch Series 10 lineup, the more affordable Watch SE 3 can now collect users' sleep data to detect early signs of obstructive sleep apnea. It will then alert the user and ask them to consult a doctor immediately.
This new option joins the existing suite of fitness and wellness features like heart rate monitoring, SpO2 monitoring, stress monitoring, irregular rhythm notifications, mindfulness and medication apps and more.
The Apple Watch SE 3 also comes with support for 30+ sports and activity detection. It also brings Apple's suite of safety features like Emergency SOS, noise monitoring, backtrack, fall detection, crash detection and more.
Apart from this, just like the Watch SE 2, the new SE edition of the smartwatch is also up to 50 meters water resistance which makes it swimproof. Connectivity-wise it brings Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, GymKit and 5G support.
Apple Watch SE 3 Pricing and Sale Date
The Apple Watch SE 3 is offered in a standard GPS model and a cellular option. It costs $249 (approximately Rs 22,000) for the GPS variant. Meanwhile, the GPS + 5G option will cost $299 (approximately Rs 27,000).
Interested buyers can pre-order the latest SE watch from Apple starting today, that is, September 9, 2025 and will enter open sales from September 19, 2025. Interested buyers will be able to get the Watch SE 3 in Midnight and Starlight colourways.
