The Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 have launched alongside the iPhone 178 Pro models, iPhone Duo and AirPods 5 during the Surprise and Shine event. The new Apple Watches bring next-generation health tracking and improved Apple Intelligence, alongside new features, all tied together in a completely revamped Apple Health app.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 Specifications and Features
In terms of build, the Series 12 is now offered in aluminium, titanium and ceramic casings, whereas the Ultra 4 sticks to titanium only. The Series 12 now boasts 60% tougher Ceramic Shield 2 glass, whereas the Ultra 4 brings ruggedness with 3D-printed recycled titanium. The Series 12 arrives in two sizes – 42mm and 46mm, whereas the Ultra 4 is offered in a standard 49mm dial.

Both boast the same LTPO3 displays as their predecessors, with the Series 12 boasting an Always-On Retina unit with 2,000 nits of peak brightness and the Ultra 4 maxing out at 3,000 nits. However, the main upgrades are under the hood.
There's a new S11 chip powering both smartwatches. They both also pack enlarged optical sensors measuring heart rate every five seconds and tracking HRV up to 24 times more frequently. Yet the Series 12 delivers 24 hours of everyday use, with 15-minute quick charging adding 12 hours of battery life.

The Ultra 4 delivers up to 50 hours of runtime normally, 84 hours in Low Power Mode, and up to 45 hours of continuous outdoor GPS workout tracking.
Software-wise, Apple has packed these smartwatches with new Apple Intelligence features. Starting with Audio Intelligence tools such as Live Rewind for conversational text playback and Sound Recognition for environmental alerts.

Beyond that, Series 12 and Ultra 4 also introduce a new daily "Readiness" score that analyses sleep, vitals, and training load to recommend how hard users should push themselves. Then there's also Siri Recap to summarise spoken conversations right from the wrist.

Both watches will arrive with watchOS 27 out of the box with new features like Dynamic app grid, Smart Stack widget suggestions and support for women's health features like Perimenopause and Menopause. The Apple Health app has also been revamped with a cleaner layout and better utility.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are now available for pre-order and will start shipping on September 18, 2026. The Series 12's GPS-only variant starts at Rs 56,900, while the Cellular variant costs Rs 69,900. The Watch Ultra 4's Cellular variant starts at Rs 1,09,900.
