Google recently started rolling out a much-needed Gemini app redesign on Android, and it looks like the iOS app is also getting some love. The Gemini app on iOS was recently spotted bearing a new design, and it could make the experience more colourful, fun and seamless.
Gemini iOS Redesign Brings Glowing Elements
The new UI was first spotted by a Reddit user, TaxOld2989, who, upon reopening the app, noticed a new Gemini homepage with new design elements. The biggest change is that instead of a plain screen, the homepage now has a colourful, glowing background pulsating behind the text.

The prompt box is now shaped like a simple pill, with buttons for voice and Gemini Live integrated into the pill instead of in the bottom-right corner. The pill now uses Liquid Glass and integrates a "+" icon on the left that brings up a menu where users can add photos, take photos, use Canvas Deep Research, and pretty much all Gemini features.
Google has also moved a few buttons and menus around. For starters, the button to switch your Google account now appears at the very bottom, similar to the change that was made in the Android app. The AI model picker has been moved to the top left.

The new colourful background stays when conversing with Gemini. The model's thinking can be seen by pressing the "See thinking steps" button, which has also been moved. Users will now have to tap a menu button to see steps pop up from the bottom of the screen.
The Google Gemini revamp on Android brings improvements to Gemini Live's user interface, but we don't know if the same is coming to iOS. The original poster did not post about the same, so we wouldn't know for sure. Considering the changes are in line with the Android counterpart, the update should include a new Live UI too.
The Gemini app revamp on iOS is currently rolling to only select iPhone users. The test group is currently significantly small, but it should soon expand to more users. Until then, we have to wait and see how exactly this new design transitions to other platforms like the Web.
