Last week at the Android Show I/O Edition 2026, Google announced it is revamping its emoji library on Android with a new 3D look and gave a small preview of the changes coming. It is expected to make them feel more true-to-life and add three-dimensional and glossy texture. Now, ahead of its official rollout later in 2026, a new leak has given us a glimpse at some more emojis with the new redesigned look.
Every New 3D Emoji Coming to Android 17 Has Surfaced Online
User RKBDI on X, has shared around 250 of the new Android 3D emoji revamp designs, showcasing the changes coming to Android 17. The leaked images show off categories like Smileys & emotions, Animals & nature and Food & drinks.

The difference from the above images is clear from the current Android emoji implementation. They confirm the use of gradients, shadows and expressive facial features to bring a much more lively and interactive experience.
For example, the moon phase emoji now appears more natural and true-to-life, while the bugs and plants have a distinct shine and three-dimensional aspect to them. Even the emoticons are now more vibrant and are a clear step up from the current flat and lacklustre implementation.
Google claims that these new emojis add a "touch of physicality" to digital conversations, making them more realistic. They are also hand-drawn, and Google has confirmed the use of zero AI in crafting the new Android 3D emoji experience.
That said, the Android emoji facelift is scheduled to go official later in 2026, starting with Pixel phones like the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro Fold and others. However, in case you own a rooted Android phone, the tipster has shared a downloadable file on his Telegram channel to help users download and use the emojis ahead of launch.
